The paintings below are mostly  2.5 x 3.5 inches or 6.4 x 8.9cm, unless otherwise indicated.

That's the standard format for ACEOs or "Artist Cards - Editions & Originals". You can learn more about this movement on Wikipedia: ATCs

 

When I found a site that sold ACEO canvas panels prepared for painting in oil, I couldn't resist trying them out. It's been fun painting on this small format. 

 

I also found stretched canvases in the same size and, recently, I tried stretching my own (see above photo). They look great on a tiny easel but are not flat so you cannot mail them in an envelope like the cardboard or canvas panels. 

 

My latest six are on Figueras canvas textured paper, which is specially prepared for oil painting. I've cut it to ACEO size. The paper ones are easy to mail in an envelope.
